What began as a late-night idea on the tranquil shores of Lake Thompson, SD, in the warmth of a local restaurant, has blossomed into the renowned Northern Prairie Guide Service. Our journey has unfolded across the picturesque landscapes of NE South Dakota, Western South Dakota, and the expansive waters of the Missouri River system. Initially focused on the pursuit of Walleyes, Perch, and Crappie, we've now ventured into the realm of Big Game, adding another layer of excitement to our repertoire.

At the heart of Northern Prairie Guide Service is a passion for the outdoors and a deep-seated desire to share that enthusiasm with others. As the founder, my #1 Priority was to create an experience that transcends the ordinary, offering fully guided trips that forge lasting memories. Our dedicated team of guides, who are immersed in this full-time endeavor, spend over 250 days a year on the water, the ice, or in pursuit of big game.
